Pricing

Cost of the lambs is based on 2 key factors - Weight of lamb and time of year (market value).

On average our lambs will be taken to the processor at 120-130 pounds. Typically you will see a 54% yield from the live weight, which is what we will refer to as hanging weight. Price per pound is then calculated based on hanging weight, this price per pound can fluctuate based on market value. On average we try to keep prices between $6.5-8.5 per pound of hanging weight.

Example:

  • Live Weight x Typical Dressing Percent = Hanging Weight
    • 130 lb live weight x 54% = 70 lb hanging weight
    • 70 lb hanging weight x $7/lb = $490 + $100 deposit (processing cost) = $590 per whole lamb (average)

**Depending on how you choose to have your lamb cut, you can expect on average 70% of the hanging weight back in retail cuts.

Once you have paid the deposit, we will give you a processing date that we have available with our processor. They will contact us once they have the have the hanging weight of the lamb, and we will then send an invoice for the appropriate amount.

All invoices must be paid before pickup or shipping. Shipping cost will be included in the invoice cost if you chose to have the meat shipped.
